New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday announced a 21-day lockdown to prevent infection of the corona virus epidemic. The interim president of the Congress, Sonia Gandhi, has written a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi praising the move and along with it he has given suggestions to be implemented immediately during the lockdown period.
Sonia Gandhi wrote in a four-page letter, “As the President of the Congress, I would like to state that we will support every step taken by the Central Government to ensure the prevention of the epidemic.”
He further wrote, “In this challenging and uncertain time it is necessary for each of us to rise above partisan interests and honor our duty to our country and indeed to humanity.”
Sonia Gandhi urged Narendra Modi to send financial help to the accounts of laborers and poor facing livelihood crisis by implementing ‘Minimum Income Guarantee Scheme’ (NYAY) and steps should be taken to provide relief to farmers and small businessmen .
