New Delhi: The government has decided to ban the issuance of tourism visas to foreign nationals who want to travel to India and participate in the religious activities.

Officials gave this information on Tuesday. This decision has been taken after it was revealed that from January 1 till now, around 2,100 foreigners came to India and engaged in taboo activities in different parts of the country. Many of these people have been found infected with the corona virus.

A Home Ministry official said that the Foreign Ministry has been advised that Indian missions in other countries may be requested to refrain from giving tourist visas to foreigners who can use it for transit activities.
