New Delhi: The Congress has decided not to criticize the government on any issue at present in view of the corona epidemic, but the party will continue to give its suggestions to the government in form of constructive cooperation. This decision was taken in the first meeting of the 11-member advisory group constituted by the party’s interim president Sonia Gandhi headed by former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh today.
In an hour-long meeting, former party president Rahul Gandhi clearly told the party leaders that the country is going through a serious phase, so there is no time to criticize the government at such a time, we, being the opposition party, have made the government positive and Constructing cooperation, he also demanded from the government that all the small and big equipment should be completely exempted from GST during difficult times. After a long discussion, the advisory group also came to the conclusion that a document should be submitted to the government, including identifying the issues and ways to deal with them.
The party is preparing this document and will submit it to the government in the next one or two days. After the meeting, Jairam Ramesh told that by incorporating small and medium industries in this document, it will be analyzed that what kind of crisis they are facing in these situations and how the government can help them.
The financial assistance of the Center can prove to be a great help in recovering the losses suffered by such industries due to lockdown. In the form of help, what should be its form, these things are being disclosed in the document. With this, the Congress will give a separate report to the government on how fast the Rabi crops are for wheat, gram and mustard.
The party demanded that Jan Dhan accounts, Central Pension Scheme which is running for the elderly, widows and the handicapped should be immediately given Rs 7500 to bank accounts under this scheme. 2000 rupees have been given to the farmers associated with the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Project, but in view of the circumstances, Rs 7500 should be added to their accounts. The party also reviewed the work being done on the corona in Congress-ruled states, which will be discussed in detail in the meeting to be held on Wednesday. The group includes Manmohan Singh Rahul Gandhi, P Chidambaram, Jairam Ramesh, KC Venugopal, Manish Tiwari, Randeep Surjewala among others.
