PM Modi gave indications in meeting with chief ministers
New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday discussed the current situation in the country of Corona virus infection and other issues, including the nationwide lockdown that has been implemented since March 25, through video conferencing with Chief Ministers of various states. It is understood that the meeting also discussed measures to get the country out of lockdown in a phased manner.
Meanwhile, it is being told that Prime Minister Narendra Modi in a meeting with the Chief Ministers has indicated that the COVID-19 hotpost will continue even after May 3. Simultaneously, Meghalaya CM Konrad Sangma has asked PM Modi to give exemption to the green zone districts in his state and continue the lockdown even after May 3 in the districts affected by Corona.
According to reports, Prime Minister Narendra Modi told the Chief Ministers of the state that the lockdown could continue in some parts of the country, which are most affected by the corona infection. Five of the nine chief ministers in the meeting said the lockdown should end, while the rest are in favor of extending the lockdown to overcome the corona.
The meeting was attended by Home Minister Amit Shah and Health Minister Dr. Harsh Vardhan besides senior officials of the Prime Minister’s Office and other related ministries.
Apart from this, Chief Ministers of various states including Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan and Kerala Chief Minister P. Vijayan also attended the meeting.
