Zydus Cadila launched the cheapest generic version of Remdesivir

New Delhi: Zydus Cadila has introduced Remdesivir, a drug useful for the treatment of corona virus infected patients, in the Indian market under the brand name Remdac. The company told the stock market that the price of 100 mg bottle of Remdec is Rs 2,800, which is the cheapest brand of Remdesivir available in India. According to Zydus Cadila, this drug will be available throughout the country through its distribution network.

Remdac will be found in government and private hospitals. Cadila Healthcare Managing Director Dr. Sharvil Patel said, “Remdac is the cheapest medicine, because we want this drug to reach as many patients as possible in the treatment of covid-19.” (API) is manufactured at the group’s unit in Gujarat. Zydus Cadila is also trying to make a vaccine of Covid-19 and the vaccine named ZyCov-D is in the second phase of clinical trials.

Zydus Cadila is the fifth company to launch a generic version of Remdesivir in India. Earlier, Hetero Labs, Cipla, Mylan and Jubilant Life Sciences have also launched generic versions of the antiviral drug Remdesivir in the country.
