New Delhi. Delhi’s government and private hospitals in the country’s capital Delhi will now only treat Delhi residents. The Kejriwal government has taken this major decision in view of the increasing number of patients infected with Corona. At the same time, all people will continue to be treated in central government hospitals located in Delhi.

After the cabinet decision, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said in a press conference on Sunday that by the end of June, 15,000 corona-infected patients would need beds. Based on the report of the expert committee, the government has decided that only Delhi’s people will be treated in Delhi government hospitals. In the press conference, Arvind Kejriwal said that till the month of March, all the hospitals in Delhi remained open to the people of the whole country. At any given time 60 to 70 percent of the people in our Delhi hospitals were outside Delhi. But Corona cases are increasing rapidly. In such a situation, what will happen to Delhi people if they open hospitals in Delhi? This decision has been taken keeping in mind the interests of Delhiites.

Kejriwal said that public opinion was sought in this regard. In this, 90 percent people of Delhi said that as long as there is corona then only Delhiites should be treated in Delhi hospitals. He told that a committee of 5 doctors was formed. He has given his report. Dr. Mahesh Verma was the chairman of this committee. The committee has said that Delhi will need 15,000 beds by the end of June.
