Washington: On Wednesday, a US report alleging attacks and discrimination against religious and ethnic minorities in India said that US authorities have emphasized the need to provide full protection to minorities in the country under the Constitution. The 2019 International Religious Freedom Report, recognized by the US Congress, was released by Secretary of State Mike Pompeo in the State Department on Wednesday, citing incidents of religious freedom violations worldwide.

India had already rejected a report on America’s religious freedom, stating that it does not assume any foreign government’s jurisdiction over the constitutionally protected rights of its citizens.
