New Delhi : Sudden rise in number of covid-19 cases for the day in a row has set off alarm bells among doctors across the country. They say that sub-variants of Omicron have led to sudden rise in cases. According to reports, more than two dozen cases have been reported from Bhopal, state capital of Madhya Pradesh, in the past 24 hours. Besides, nearly 16 cases have been reported from Indore. Most of the people down with covid-19 have been vaccinated twice.
The most stunning revelation has come from the Union Health Ministry. It says that India has registered 7,240 fresh Covid cases in the last 24 hours. Maharashtra has reported 2,701 fresh cases, its highest infection counts since January 25. Similarly, Kerala has reported 2,271 new cases in the last 24 hours. The national capital reported 564 cases. The doctors have, however, said that the cases are not serious. The symptoms remain for two/three days and hospitalisation is not required, they say.

A senior consultant-internal medicine at global hospital, Mumbai, Manjusha Agarwal, says that she has observed that the recent Covid-19 positive patients are getting better in 48 to 72 hours and nobody has required any Remdesivir or immunotherapy as patients are not having major complications. Agarwal credited vaccination to be the reason for low severity. According to Indian Council and Medical Research (ICMR), 34 districts of Madhya Pradesh have higher positivity rate than state average.
