Dragon Con becomes an online event for 2020 amid coronavirus pandemic

Dragon Con, a famous sci-fi, fantasy and gaming convention in Atlanta would now be an online event, instead of an in-person event.

The cancellation of the in-person event is due to the coronavirus pandemic that is creating havoc in people’s lives.

Earlier, Dragon Con was set to take place over the Labour weekend but the change in plan came in picture in order to guarantee the safety of the event amid the coronavirus pandemic.

This year, the convention was going to celebrate its 34th year in Atlanta.

Last year, the in-person had witnessed over 85,000 people taking part across four days.

And this year, the organizers were planning to gather 90,000 footfall but all plans went for a toss in the wake of the crisis.

This year, the organizers are planning to provide a free online version of the event, which would have panels that would hold online costume contests and others.
