Lucknow: The state unit of CPI-ML has, in a press statement released here today, said that in CM Yogi rule, targetting minority community has become order of the day.
State secretary of the party, Sudhakar Yadav said that in Ramsanehi ghat Tehsil of Barabanki recently, a decades old mosque was demolished by the administration itself.
He said that most recent was the case of members of minority community who were residing with their families for decades and centuries in ancestral homes situated near the Gorakhnath temple of Gorakhpur of which the CM is the mahant himself, were facing danger of being evicted out on the ground of enhancing security of the temple.
He said that this had already been reported recently in a section of the international media, and as per the report, the police and officials of the administration were visiting their houses to have the families’ consent on a written form.
The CPI-ML leader said that as per informations received by his own party sources, the families were scared and not admitting openly that they were being told by the administration to give their ‘consent’. They, however, were planning to appeal to the CM upon his visit to the hometown, and also hopefull that their grievances would be looked into. Nearly a dozen families are estimated to be affected from this move void of any legal orders.
Comrade Sudhakar said that the administration was trying to build pressure on the families to have their signatures on the consent form. This is totally unacceptable. Why were these families being seen as danger to the temple premises despite the fact that they were residing in its vicinity for decades and hundreds of years, was this not because they belonged to the minority community, he asked. He demanded that the move to displace the families be stopped immediately.
He said that in the last month, a vegetable vendor belonging to the minority community in Unnao district was beaten to death by the police, and a meat seller of the same community in Moradabad was subjected to physical torture by a group of saffron men and atrocious acts by the police too.
