Nothing can upset your body and mind as a half-sleep schedule can. And when you are traveling and have to complete the travel formalities, you are increasing your body’s risk to become tired and feel more sleepy.
Everyone wants a sleep schedule of 11 pm to 7 am, which is 8 hours of good quality sleep with no disturbances. Especially if you are planning to travel to a foreign land that has a varied time zone, then be prepared to be craving more sleep than the regular sleeping hours.
Irrespective of you are traveling for fun or work purposes, here are some ideas on how you can sleep well without major disruptions.
1) Few days before you plan to travel to your destination, start going to bed earlier than an hour than you usually would sleep. Add an extra hour each day like that so that your body has got the rest and can have the immunity to adjust to the different time zone once you reach your location. Your body and mind would be prepared to transition in an easier manner.
2) Go with the flow of the local timetable. Try to sleep as much as you can when you are on the plane. Do not waste your time watching movies or playing games on the mobile, instead just close your eyes and keep music on your earphones that will put you off to sleep.
3) If you are reaching your destination in the middle of the day, then stay awake and do not immediately go to sleep. Follow what everyone is doing there locally and go to sleep during the night hours of that zone as it will help the body to move and digest the food that you consume throughout the day and also help you get a good sleep at night.
4) Everyday morning, get up, take a warm shower, and exercise for 30 minutes so that your body adapts to the natural environments of that place and helps you stay energetic throughout the day.
