If you are planning to enjoy a healthy diet while you also travel with your family, there are various ways to achieve that. You need to stop at a restaurant if you feel hungry because your home-cooked foods would be already available in your bag. Here are some nutritious food ideas to pack for traveling in a car or train.

1) You can keep a box of black pepper popcorn in your bag. This comes too handy while you can chew it whenever you feel hungry. It is far better than the readymade popcorns that you get in shops because all you would need is cheese, oil, and fresh black pepper to prepare this type of popcorn at your home and pack it for the travel.

2) Sandwiches can be too yummy when they are homemade. Because you can add whatever veggies you like and also ensure that the sauces are not too spicy. You can even your favorite green chutney on the sandwich and enjoy a yummy delight during your travel. You would need to keep the sandwich in an air-tight container so that it remains fresh for at least four hours from the cooking time.

3) Puri bhaji or Chapati bhaji is also a very good option to eat while traveling. You can stuff the bhajis in the puri or chapati so that when you open the box, you can eat them directly rather than carrying the plates. Ensure that the food is not too oily or spicy because it may create bloating or acidity during your journey. 

4) Buttermilk and lemonade bottles are too good to relish while traveling. Although you would carry water bottles to beat the summer heat but carrying homemade buttermilk and lemonade bottles can help you stay fresh despite the scorching heat. You can check out some online recipes to make your buttermilk and lemonade extra special and also last longer.

5) Curd rice is the best option if you add tadka to it. All you would need is to cook rice, add curd and salt to it, and add tadka of oil, rai, ginger pieces, and kadipata. This will make the curd rice last longer and avoid getting the taste of sourness because the tadka will be present. You can have them whenever you want and also curd rice will make your stomach feel fuller and also cooler in the summer season. Curd rice also acts as a natural remedy for stomach issues or health issues caused due to heat.

6) Keep homemade snacks like banana chips, chakli, shengdana, biscuits, etc. in separate boxes. You can munch on them whenever you feel you are getting bored and have nothing else to eat. Just ensure that you don’t eat a lot of them but a few of them as evening or morning snacks with tea or coffee. 

Traveling is not easy if you are unprepared. So, spend your time packing your bags for clothes and foodstuff quite sufficiently so that your journey is smooth and gives you happy memories.
