Now contracts for Chinese companies will also be canceled in highway projects

New Delhi: After the confrontation between India and China on the Ladakh border, India is constantly taking steps against China. India recently closed 59 Chinese apps and now the government has given another big blow to Chinese companies. Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari said on Wednesday that the government would not allow Chinese companies to be part of highway projects. It will also include companies forming joint ventures with Chinese companies.

His statement is being linked to the recent violent clash between India and China in the Galvan Valley. Gadkari said that the government will ensure that Chinese investors do not invest in various sectors like micro, small and medium industries (MSME). Gadkari also has the responsibility of the MSME Ministry.

Gadkari said in an interview that we will not award contracts to road construction joint ventures in which the Chinese company will be a partner. We will maintain a firm stand on this. Even if he comes to India by joining a joint venture, we will not allow him. He said that the policy to ban Chinese companies will be introduced soon. At the same time, rules will be made easier to give priority to Indian companies in highway projects.
