New Delhi: 630 people are still under police custody in Delhi violence case. All these people have either been arrested or detained. At the same time, 123 cases have been registered in this case so far. Public Relations Officer (PRO) of Delhi Police, MS Randhawa, said on Saturday that so far 25 FIRs have been held in connection with the arson.
Earlier, the Delhi Police Crime Branch on Thursday constituted Special Investigation Team (SIT) and handed over all the registered FIRs in the case to the SIT. The two SIT teams formed for the investigation are headed by DCP Joy Tirkey and Rajesh Dev. The constituted investigation team has started investigation in cases related to North East Delhi violence. At the same time, monitoring of both these investigation teams has been entrusted to Additional CP BK Singh. In this case, 48 FIRs were registered by the police till Thursday while 106 people were arrested.
In fact, around 42 people have died and more than 200 people have been injured in the violence between two groups in the North-East area of Delhi in a protest in protest and support of the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA).
