Indian media needs to go global: PM Modi

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Tuesday that India’s presence on every international platform has been strengthened, so the Indian media also needs to be ‘global’. In his address after inaugurating a magazine in Jaipur through video conference, the Prime Minister said that criticism of the government by the media is natural and it has strengthened democracy.

Modi praised the media for spreading awareness about the corona virus epidemic and termed it an ‘unprecedented’ service to the people. The Prime Minister said, ‘India’s local products are going global today. India’s voice is also becoming more global. The world listens to India more carefully. India has a strong presence on every international stage. In such a situation, India’s media also needs to be global. ‘

Narendra Modi described the Patrika Gate as a reflection of the culture of Rajasthan. The iconic gate has been built by the Patrika Group of Newspapers on the Jawaharlal Nehru Marg in Jaipur.

He also released two books written by Gulab Kothari, Chairman of Patrika Group of Newspapers, via video conference. Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot and Governor Kalraj Mishra were present at the event.
