New Delhi: The whole world is waiting for a vaccine to deal with Corona. Meanwhile, there are reports that the corona virus vaccine is not 100% effective.
Director General of Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) Dr. Balram Bhargava said that no vaccine is 100% effective for respiratory diseases. He said that the efficacy of corona virus vaccine in India is likely to be 50 to 100%. He said that they are striving for 100 percent efficiency.
Balaram Bhargava said, “We are aiming for 100 percent efficacy, but can be between 50 and 100 percent. However, it would still be an effective vaccine against the virus.
Bhargava further said that according to the World Health Organization (WHO), a vaccine with more than 50 percent efficacy is acceptable for administration. 100 percent efficacy is not achieved in respiratory virus vaccines.
