New Delhi: In the midst of counting of Bihar assembly elections on Tuesday, the Election Commission held a press conference and said that this time it will take time to complete the counting process. DEC Chandra Bhushan said that so far more than one crore votes have been counted. The number of polling booths was 63 per cent higher this time. He said that in 2015, polling booths were built in 38 places but this time there were polling booths in 58 places.
Bihar’s Chief Electoral Officer HR Srinivas told that ‘about 4.10 crore votes have been cast this time. So far 92 lakh votes have been counted. In the first round 25–26, voting was done, this time there is a possibility that at least 35 rounds can be counted. In this case, the counting may go on till late night.
The Election Commission estimates that the counting of votes may take place from 19 to 51 rounds, depending on the counting of voters. The Commission has estimated up to 35 rounds. The commission made it clear that in some assemblies, voting may end in 19 rounds, while in some it may go up to 51 rounds.
