Centre issues new COVID-19 guidelines from Dec 1, consult the center if a lockdown was imposed

New Delhi: Corona infection cases are continuously increasing in the country. In view of this, the Union Home Ministry has issued new guidelines on Containment, Surveillance, Vigilance on Wednesday. It states that the state and union territories must strictly implement the rules in the containment zone. At the same time, persons over 65 years of age and children below 10 years have been advised to stay at home. These guidelines will be effective from December 1 to December 31.

The home ministry said states and union territories could impose local restrictions such as the night curfew to prevent corona, but they would have to consult the center if a lockdown was imposed outside the containment zone.

The Ministry of Home Affairs said that only necessary activities will be allowed in the Containment Zone. It will be the responsibility of local district, police and corporation authorities to strictly implement the rules in the cantonment zone. In addition, the State and Union Territories will work closely with the concerned authorities to ensure responsibility.

In a statement issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs, it has been said that the surveillance team will go door-to-door and the Kovid-19 patients will be immediately treated with treatment facilities. The state has also been asked to ensure social distancing at workplaces.
