In India, women have been given the status of a goddess, but currently these things are limited to books only. Incidents of atrocities on women have become common these days. The culprits of Nirbhaya, a gang-rape victim in Delhi, were still hanged in the defending maneuver even after the last eight years. While taking advantage of the Nirbhaya movement, the people who became leaders are taking advantage of power. Taking advantage of the legal intricacies, the date of hanging Nirbhaya’s culprits continued to move forward again and again. This increases the spirits of criminals.
 
Increasing the number of women in Parliament is a good sign. But even today, on the matter of reservation of women in Parliament, all political parties fall behind. No party wants to advance the Women’s Reservation Bill. Many political parties are headed by women, but on the matter of providing reservation to women, they too start to silence the government and shake the yes. For this reason, the matter of giving reservation to women in Parliament is pending for years.

All political parties and state governments fulfill their duties by providing some reservation to women in Panchayati Raj and autonomous government institutions. Women in the country are working shoulder to shoulder with men in every field. In the past years, women players have increased the value of the country around the world by performing well in many international competitions. Even after this, women have to fight for equality which is not good for the country and society.

Some good and some bad news are coming in the interest of women. The good news is that the number of women MPs in Parliament has increased. At the same time, the Supreme Court has cleared the way to give permanent commission in the army to women. In one of its decisions, the country’s top court has ordered permanent commission of women in the army.

During this time, some things that have made women embarrassing have also come to light. The incident of indecency with female trainee clerks has surfaced in Surat, Gujarat. Due to which the head of society considered civilized has bowed with shame. In the name of physical examination of trainee clerks in Surat Municipal Corporation, they were forced to strip and stand in queues for hours.

Not only this, neither their privacy was taken care of nor sensitivity was shown to them. The trainee clerks were taken to the maternity department of the hospital for medical tests. Where they were asked to take off all the clothes by dividing them into groups of 10-10. The door of the room in which they were made to stand naked was not locked properly. Even his privacy was not taken care of. During the investigation, female doctors also examined unmarried women related to pregnancy. Due to which he faced an uncomfortable situation.

She was forced to stand without clothes for hours, before an embarrassing case came to light from the Sri Sahajanand Girls Institute in Bhuj town in Gujarat. Inner hostels of 68 girls were taken down there. It was reportedly done to ascertain whether they were menstruating. With this matter of girls getting their inner wear removed, the matter has become a topic of discussion on social media and the government has woken up and a committee has been set up to suppress the matter. By which it would take months to submit its investigation report, people would have forgotten that incident.

According to the National Crime Records Bureau, crime against women has also increased for the third consecutive year. According to this, 3 lakh 29 thousand 243 cases of crime were registered against women in 2015. In 2016, 3 lakh 38 thousand 954 cases were registered. In 2017, 3 lakh 59 thousand 849 cases were registered.

According to the data, in 2017 there were 32,559 rape cases reported in India. According to the National Crime Records Bureau data, the maximum number of cases was reported in Uttar Pradesh at 56 thousand 11. After that 31 thousand 979 cases were registered in Maharashtra. On the other hand, 30 thousand 992 cases were registered in West Bengal, 29 thousand 778 in Madhya Pradesh, 25 thousand 993 in Rajasthan and 23 thousand 82 cases in Assam. These offenses include murder, rape, dowry murder, abetment to suicide, acid attacks, cruelty against women and kidnapping etc.

Last year, in Beed district of Maharashtra, there were cases of women getting uterus to avoid menstruation. It was reported that women were doing this to avoid fines due to menstruation and interruptions in work. The uterus of 4605 women working in sugarcane fields in Beed district was removed so that their work could not be relaxed due to menstruation and they did not have to pay fines.
