New Delhi: In a tragic incident, Union Minister Shripad Naik who was travelling in the car met with an accident and his wife Vijaya Naik died in the hospital this evening.
The car in which they were travelling turned turtle at Hosakambi village of Ankola taluk in Uttara Kannada district, Karnataka.
They were travelling from Yallpura to Gokarna.
His wife met with serious injuries and died in the hospital, while three others including minister Shripad Naik had minor injuries.
Shripad Naik has been shifted to Goa Government Medical College. Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke to Goa CM to ensure the best possible treatment for Naik.
As soon as the news of the union minister’s accident came, Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke to Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on the phone. During this, he ordered to make complete arrangements for the treatment of the Union Minister.
With this, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh has spoken to Chief Minister Sawant and asked to arrange better treatment. Air ambulance has also been asked to bring it to Delhi if required. CM Pramod Sawant has reached the hospital.
