Kolkata: As soon as Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee went on stage at the ‘Parakram Divas’ program, slogans of Jayshree Ram were raised. She got angry at this. She said that this is a government program. There is no program of any political party. Government program has dignity.
She said thank you for the program you did in Kolkata, but humiliating someone after inviting does not suit you. She also refused to give a speech at the program. “As a protest, I won’t speak anything. Jai Hind, Jai Bangla,” she added.
This happened moments before Prime Minister Narendra Modi started his speech on the occasion of ‘Parakarm Divas’. The event is being held at Kolkata’s famous Victoria Memorial, where, West Bengal Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar is also present.
Notably, to commemorate Bose’s contributions and dedication to the country, the Centre has announced that his birth anniversary will be celebrated as Parakram Diwas.
