New Delhi: The third budget session of Modi government’s second term has started from today. The session began with the President addressing a joint sitting of both houses. After this, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will present the general budget on 1 February. This budget will be historic, because this time budget will be paperless. At the same time, an economic survey will also be presented today regarding the budget. Meanwhile, 19 political parties boycotted the President’s address.
Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad said on Thursday, “We boycott the address of the honorable President in Parliament.” The biggest reason for this is that the government passed these 3 bills forcefully without the consent of the farmers.
These things have been said by issuing a joint statement on behalf of the parties. The maximum emphasis has been laid on the peasant movement and agricultural legislation. These 19 political parties include DMK, SP, CPI (M), CPI, RSP, PDP, Kerala Congress, AIUDF and Trinamool Congress, BSP besides Congress, NCP, Shiv Sena.
