New Delhi: Union Home Minister Amit Shah said on Saturday that the government has decided to resettle all the displaced Kashmiri Pandits of the Valley by 2022, as well as create 25,000 jobs for the people there and provide connectivity to the region. The Kashmir Valley will be connected by rail within the next two years.

The Home Minister said that the government provides Rs 13,000 per month to the families of 44,000 Kashmiri Pandits who have relief cards. The government also provides free rations and plans to have them returned to their homes in the valley by 2022. Assuring the people of Jammu and Kashmir, he said that no person will get any land. The government has sufficient land for development works.

The Union Home Minister slammed the Congress and other opposition parties for supporting Article 370. He said that this was a temporary arrangement in the Constitution, but Congress and other parties continued it for 70 years. When reminded of the promise made by Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chaudhary while removing Article 370, Shah said, “I will surely answer this, but I want to ask that it has been only 17 months since Article 370 was removed.
