New Delhi: Climate activist Disha Ravi has been arrested from Bengaluru for his involvement in sharing on the social media a ‘toolkit’ associated with farmers’ demonstrations. On Monday, Delhi Police said climate activist Disha Ravi, advocate Nikita Jacob and Shantanu created a toolkit on farmers’ protests, shared by Swedish climate activist Greta Thunberg on Twitter. Joint police commissioner of Delhi Police Cyber Cell Prem Nath said that Disha Ravi had sent a toolkit to the environmental activist Greta Thanberg via the Telegram app.
Joint CP said that during the investigation, the screen shots of the toolkit were screened online and as soon as the information received in the investigation, a search warrant was issued against the editor of this toolkit Google Document, Nikita Jacob, and a team including the case commission was sent to Mumbai . They have got 2 laptops and 1 iPhone from them.
He has said that the investigation also revealed that Mav Dhaliwal, founder of the Kavya nayay Foundation, approached Nikita Jacob through his associate living in Canada, Puneet. Their aim was to carry out Twitter storms and digital strikes before and after Republic Day. Delhi Police has said that all legal procedures were followed while arresting Disha Ravi. Her mother and SHO of that area were also present at the time of arrest.
