Another delegation of foreign diplomats reached to J&K, will assess the situation

Srinagar: After the removal of special status of Jammu and Kashmir in 2019, another delegation of EU envoys arrived in the state on Wednesday for a two-day visit to assess the situation there. Officials told about this. Officials said that a 20-member delegation reached the state amid tight security arrangements. The delegation plans to visit Jammu on Thursday.

Significantly, the delegation of the European Union is going to take review of the state of democracy at the grassroots level and will also hold a meeting with the newly elected members of DDC, some prominent citizens and administrative secretaries. Here, politics is also heating up on this visit to the European Union. The opposition has alleged that the Modi government is bent on internationalizing the Kashmir issue.

A team of 15 diplomats, including the US Ambassador to India, Kenneth I. Juster, made a two-day visit to Jammu and Kashmir in January. On August 5, 2019, the Central Government repealed Article 370 and divided the erstwhile Jammu and Kashmir State into two Union Territories – Jammu Kashmir and Ladakh. After this, a second delegation of 25 foreign diplomats reached Jammu and Kashmir in February.
