Cape Canaveral: A rover sent by the US space agency ‘NASA’ has landed on Mars on Friday. With its landing there was a wave of happiness among NASA scientists and staff. Among them was a moment of greater enthusiasm, especially for an Indian-origin scientist, Dr. Swati Mohan. Scientist Dr. Swati Mohan was part of this NASA team, with the help of which NASA has succeeded in creating history.
Dr. Swati Mohan is an Indian-American scientist who besides being the Chief System Engineer, schedules mission control staffing for guidance, navigation and control. Swati was just a year old when she moved to the US with her family. Bachelor’s degree in engineering in mechanical and aerospace from Cornell University. Completed MS and PhD from MIT in Astronautics. The Indian-American scientist has also previously worked on Cassini (a mission to Saturn) and GRAIL (a pair of spacecraft flown to the moon) projects.
