Kanyakumari: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi today accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) of not honoring the Tamil language and culture, saying that it was their duty to protect it. Gandhi said that in the last phase of his three-day campaign he wanted to share some things with the people.
He said that the central government led by Modi is not giving due respect to the Tamil language and culture. He said that it is regrettable that Chief Minister E.K. Palaniswami is taking action on Modi’s orders rather than focusing on people’s issues. Modi and RSS are trying to insult Tamil language and culture.
They are trying to bring a nation, a language and a culture. He asked whether Tamil is not an Indian language. Bangla is not an Indian language. Tamil culture is not Indian culture. He said, I am here, it is my duty to protect the Tamil language and culture. He said that it is my duty to protect all languages, culture and religions.
