Jorhat: Former Congress president Rahul Gandhi, while addressing a rally in Jorhat in the Assam Legislative Assembly elections, has said that if the Congress government is formed in the state, then all the families will be given 200 units of free electricity. With this, he made five big announcements. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi said at a rally in Mariyani, “BJP is attacking the culture, language, history and brotherhood of Assam, we will eradicate hatred and bring peace.”
Among the five promises he announced, the first is the decision not to implement CAA in the state. In the second promise, he said that a minimum wage of 365 rupees per day will be given to the tea garden workers. He said that whatever happens, they will continue to implement it. Gandhi promised to give 200 units of electricity free to every family as the third promise. In the fourth promise, he said that he will give 2000 rupees per month to every woman of the state. Apart from this, Rahul also announced 5 lakh jobs to remove unemployment in the state.
A day earlier, Rahul Gandhi had given “five guarantees” on Friday, stating that if his party formed a government in Assam, the CAA would not apply and within six hours the daily salary of tea workers would be increased to Rs 365. At the election rally on the first day of his visit to Assam prepared for the assembly elections, Gandhi assured all students, including college students, tea workers.
