New Delhi: Former Mumbai Police Commissioner Parambir Singh has moved the Supreme Court. He has filed a petition in the Supreme Court about his transfer to the Home Guard Department. Parambir Singh, while appealing for the cancellation of his transfer order, claimed that the order was ‘arbitrary’ and ‘illegal’.
He has also demanded a CBI inquiry on the allegations against Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh. Parambir Singh has also demanded protection from any action on behalf of the state.
Earlier, Parambir Singh took over the charge of Director General of Maharashtra Home Guard on Monday. Parambir Singh reached the home guard office in south Mumbai in the afternoon but did not talk to media persons.
Singh was transferred on March 17 by the Maharashtra government following criticism over the case of explosive material found in a vehicle near the house of industrialist Mukesh Ambani.
Parambir Singh created a sensation by writing a letter to Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray on Saturday amid questions arising over his role. In this letter, he had made serious allegations of corruption on Anil Deshmukh.
Parambir Singh had also said that Deshmukh had targeted to collect 100 crore rupees every month for Sachin Vaje, caught by the NIA in the Mukesh Ambani case. Since then, the politics of Maharashtra has also been hot.
The Shiv Sena is also describing it as a conspiracy by the BJP to discredit the government of Maharashtra and topple the government. Meanwhile, so far NCP chief Sharad Pawar has been seen defending Anil Deshmukh.
Sharad Pawar told the media on Monday that Deshmukh was hospitalized in February. Therefore, the news of the meeting of Sachin Vajhe and Anil Deshmukh is wrong.
