Naxalite attack in Bijapur: 22 security personnel lost their lives so far

New Delhi: In the Naxalite attack in Bijapur, Chhattisgarh, the bodies of 22 soldiers have been recovered so far while several others are still missing. DG DM Awasthi has confirmed this.

After the Naxalite attack in Chhattisgarh, Union Home Minister Amit Shah called up Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel and discussed. He assured CM Baghel to fight together against Naxal violence and win. Apart from this, Shah also instructed the Director General of CRPF to go to the spot.

On Friday night, a joint team of Central Reserve Police Force’s Cobra Battalion, DRG and STF from Bijapur and Sukma District were dispatched in the anti-Naxal operation. Nearly two thousand soldiers were involved in anti-Naxal operations from Tarrem in Bijapur district, Usur, Minapa in Sukma district and Narasapuram.

Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Sunday said that the encounter lasted for more than 4 hours. He said that the Naxalites had suffered a great loss in the encounter.
