New Delhi: RJD supremo Lalu Prasad has got bail from the High Court in the illegal withdrawal case from Dumka treasury. Lalu Prasad, who has been in jail for nearly three-and-a-half years, will be out of jail after completing the formalities of Bell Bond. On Saturday, the court of Justice Aparesh Singh gave this ruling while hearing. Lalu will have to pay a bond of one lakh and a fine of ten lakh rupees. Lalu Prasad has already got bail in three other cases of fodder scam before getting bail in the Dumka treasury case.
During the bail, the court has directed not to go outside the country, change the home address and mobile number. Outside the country, first the permission of the court has to be obtained. Prior to this, senior advocate Kapil Sibal, on behalf of Lalu Prasad, argued that Lalu Prasad has completed half the sentence in this case, he should get bail.
It is worth noting that the special court of CBI has sentenced Lalu to seven years under IPC and Prevention of Corruption Act in the illegal withdrawal case from Dumka treasury.
