Jaipur: The Rajasthan government on Thursday announced that a ‘strict lockdown’ will be imposed in the state from May 10 to 24 in view of the skyrocketing coronavirus cases. The state government has also banned wedding functions till May 31.

In fact, in view of the ever increasing corona infection in Rajasthan, the Gehlot government on Thursday declared complete lockdown in the state. This lockdown will be on May 10 from 5 p.m. to 24 May at 5 in the morning. During this time, all other activities except emergency services will be completely banned, prohibiting weddings in Rajasthan. CM Ashok Gehlot announced the imposition of the complete lockdown after the cabinet meeting.

Under the rules of lockdown, any ceremony related to marriage, DJ, procession and evacuation and partying will not be allowed in the state till May 31. Marriage will be allowed at home or as a court marriage, which will include only 11 persons, the information of which is available on the web portal Covidinfo. Will have to give it to rajasthan.gov.in.

Rajasthan reported 161 coronavirus-related deaths and 17,532 fresh cases on Thursday, pushing the toll to 5,182 and the infection count to 7,02,568, according to an official report.
