Building collapses in Mumbai due to heavy rains, 11 dead

Mumbai: A major accident occurred in Malad West of Mumbai due to heavy rain late night, in which 11 people died and 18 people were injured. Eight children are among the dead. In fact, a four-storey building collapsed in the collector compound of Malad West late in the night. The rescue team that reached there after the accident rescued 18 people, including women and children, who have been admitted to the hospital. After the accident, two more dilapidated buildings near it have been demolished as a precaution. At present, the rescue operation is going on there. Around 11 pm, a one-storey house had collapsed in Malvani, Malad. The accident happened on plot number 72 in New Collector’s Compound. Firefighters are still trying to clear the debris.

Common people helped in relief and rescue work. The injured were rescued from the rubble and rushed to Suburban Kandivali Hospital.

Let us inform that due to the rains on Wednesday in Mumbai, the water level of Mithi river increased and there has been a flood-like situation in the surrounding areas. There was a lot of trouble in the movement of people, due to water entering the ground floor of the buildings, a lot of people’s belongings got spoiled.
