New Delhi: Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra has attacked the government for increasing the price of petrol and diesel, saying that the government has earned Rs 2.5 lakh crore in a year by increasing the prices of petrol and diesel till June 6.
Priyanka Vadra said that from June 6 last year to June 6 this year, the government has earned a profit of more than Rs 2.5 lakh crore by increasing the price of petrol by Rs 24 per liter and diesel by Rs 16 per liter. The Congress general secretary said in a Facebook post, “When the country was in disaster, people were facing economic crisis. Then the government earned 2.5 lakh crores by taxing petrol and diesel. What did the common people get.”
Comparing the increase in the price of petrol and diesel in one year, she said, “On June 6, 2020, the price of petrol per liter: Rs 71, diesel price: Rs 69. On June 6, 2021, the price of petrol: Rs 95, Diesel price: Rs 85.”
