New Delhi: After the meeting of the GST Council, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has announced that GST has been abolished on two drugs of black fungus, Tocilimab, Amphotericin. Apart from this, the Finance Minister also said that now 5 percent GST will be levied on Remdesivir. Earlier 12 percent GST was being charged on this medicine.

After the council meeting, Sitharaman said that the GST on medical grade oxygen, BiPaP machines, oxygen concentrators, ventilators and pulse oximeters etc. has also been reduced. Earlier, 12 per cent GST was charged on these, which has now been reduced to 5 per cent.

Finance Minister Sitharaman informed that the GST Council has agreed that only 5 percent GST will be levied on the corona vaccine. No changes have been made to this. Apart from this, earlier 28 percent GST was charged on ambulances, which has now been reduced to 12 percent.

Nirmala Sitaran said that the central government is buying 75 percent of the vaccine and is also paying GST on it. The 75 percent vaccine that is being provided free of cost to the people in government hospitals will not have any effect on the public.
