New Delhi: Amidst the ruckus inside the Lok Janshakti Party, party leader Chirag Paswan held a press conference on Wednesday and presented his side. Chirag said that my health was not well for some time. Whatever happened was not right for me, I have brought medicine. Between the split in the party and the isolation in Bihar’s politics, Chirag said that a long battle would have to be fought. The fight is long and he will answer the question from time to time. In fact, five out of six LJP MPs have revolted and appointed Pashupati Kumar Paras as the new leader of the parliamentary party in place of Chirag.
In response, Chirag Paswan called a meeting of the National Executive in Patna on Tuesday and expelled all these disgruntled leaders from the party. Pashupati Kumar Paras is the uncle of Chirag Paswan and brother of former Union Minister late Ram Vilas Paswan.
After the death of my father on October 8, I had to go to the elections immediately. LJP has got victory in the assembly elections. Don’t judge it by numbers, we got 6 per cent votes, I did not compromise on the issue under any circumstances and will stay with JDU. It was the decision of the party. Chirag said, even when Papa was in the hospital, the matter of breaking the party had come to the fore. Some people in the party do not want to fight. Had we fought together with Nitish in Bihar, we would have got a much bigger majority, but I would have to bow down. In the assembly elections, I did not get the support of many leaders including my uncle.
