Amarnath Yatra canceled again

New Delhi: Amarnath Yatra has been canceled for the second consecutive year due to Corona epidemic. Devotees waiting for the start of the Amarnath Yatra to see Baba Barfani will now have to wait till next year for this. The Jammu and Kashmir administration has decided to cancel the Amarnath Yatra this year in the shadow of infection with the corona virus. This has been announced by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha.

According to the Jammu and Kashmir administration, online darshan of Himling will be arranged. Devotees will be able to see Himling while sitting at home. Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha said that in view of Corona, the decision to cancel the Amarnath Yatra this year was taken in the larger interest of the public.

According to the old plan, it was decided that the yatra would take place from one route only and all the pilgrims will have to go through a COVID-19 test. It was said that the temple authorities would telecast puja on television for devotees across the country.

Last week, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh visited the holy cave of Amarnath and offered prayers. He was accompanied by Chief of Defence Staff General Bipin Rawat and Army Chief General MM Naravane, spent about an hour at the temple complex.

The Amarnath cave is considered to be one of the holiest shrines in Hinduism and hundreds of thousands of devotees make an annual pilgrimage to it across challenging mountainous terrain.
