Leh: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Monday said that the country has full faith in the valor and courage of the army and the army has the power to give a befitting reply to those who show eyes to the country.
Shri Singh, who was accompanied by Army Chief General Manoj Mukund Naravane on a three-day visit to Leh and Ladakh, today visited the historic Thiksey Monastery in Ladakh. Shri Singh said, “We have a tradition here that even if we wear weapons, then only for the establishment of peace. I have full faith in the valor and courage of the army and they have the ability to give a befitting reply to those who show their eyes.
He said that the Indian Army has proved that it has valor and courage along with restraint. Where there is a need for restraint, the army also shows restraint and where there is a need for bravery and valor, the army also shows valor and stoutness there.
The Defense Minister said that due to the problem of terrorism and lack of socio-economic development, there was a need to make Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh Union Territories and I can say with confidence that after this there has been a decrease in terrorist activities and speedup development works.
