New Delhi: The CBI has conducted raids in several districts of the state regarding the scam related to the River Front built on the banks of the Gomti river in Lucknow. Not only this, apart from UP, CBI has also conducted raids in West Bengal and Rajasthan.
The CBI has also registered a new case to probe the alleged irregularities in the Gomti river project during the tenure of Akhilesh Yadav. CBI is conducting searches at 42 places, including 40 in UP, one each in Rajasthan and West Bengal. This is the second CBI FIR in the river front scam case. There are total 189 accused in this case. Apart from Lucknow in UP, CBI has conducted raids in Noida, Ghaziabad, Bulandshahr, Rae Bareli, Sitapur, Etawah, Agra.
CBI has raided the residence of contractor Rakesh Bhati in Bulandshahr. This raid is said to be related to the River Front scam case. Rakesh Bhati is a member of the Pradesh Congress Committee. Inside his house, the CBI team spent several hours in search and investigation.

Significantly, during the tenure of Akhilesh Yadav’s government, the River Front built on the banks of the Gomti river in Lucknow was described as the dream project of the Samajwadi Party. Since the inception of this project, there were allegations of big scam in it. The case was handed over to the CBI after the Yogi government came to power in UP. Now the CBI is tightening its grip on those responsible for this scam.
