Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister (CM) Yogi Adityanath is expected to go through the key highlights of the DPR for the proposed Film City project along the Yamuna Expressway. The report was to be submitted with senior state government officials, on 12 August 2021. Recently, officials from the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) had sought time from the CM’s office to discuss the project. The request was made during a review meeting summoned by state Industries Minister, Satish Mahana.
According to the details available, the 1,000-acre project, planned in Sector-21 Noida, entails an estimated outlay of Rs. 10,500 crore. Also, CBRE, the entity roped in to provide consultancy on the project, has proposed that an amusement park comprising as many as 60 modern rides be included in the project plan, to improve its positioning.

To be developed in parts, phase one of the project will cover an area of approximately 320 acres, that is likely to be developed under public-private partnership, on the lines of the Noida International Airport.
On 11 August 2021, the state industries minister had reviewed the details of the project. The CEOs of the Noida Authority, the Greater Noida Authority, and YEIDA were present in this meeting, along with the chiefs of other industrial authorities. Sources claim, the authorities, for the purpose of acquiring land for the project, had asked the state government to deliberate upon an ordinance passed in July 2020, that grants industrial authorities the power to cancel the lease deeds of plots that are unused or have been vacant for more than 5 years of allotment.
Residential plots and land parcels awarded given for group housing and commercial projects shall, however, be exempted in this case. Those given out for planning industries, institutions, or IT parks can, however, be taken back.
