MK Stalin, the chief minister of Tamil Nadu, presented a motion in the state legislature on Saturday condemning the national government’s three problematic agricultural legislation, which was accepted by voice vote. Tamil Nadu joins Chhattisgarh, Delhi, Rajasthan, Kerala, Punjab, and West Bengal as the sixth state to reject farm regulations.
Stalin’s Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) has been asking that the Centre repeal the three-farm legislation, which the chief minister has described as being “against the interests of farmers,” according to the news.
“The government has taken a clear decision to pass a resolution demanding the repeal of these three agriculture regulations,” Stalin stated in June, adding that his position has not changed. In May, Stalin stated that the administration would introduce a motion in the assembly requesting that the three agriculture regulations be repealed.

He remembered the commitment made by the DMK to urge the government of the Union to abolish the Farmers’ Agreement (Empowerment and Protection) on price security and farm services, the Essential Roadmap and the Farmers’ Trade and Trade (Facilitation and Promotion) Act.
“Three agricultural regulations must be abrogated and the government of the Union fulfil protesting demands from farmers. I tell you the DMK will respect its promises to (revoke) farm legislation,” Stalin stated. He said that the Union government did not respect farmers’ feelings by repealing the three agricultural laws, nor did it take measures to conduct talks with them to solve the problem.
