On Friday, Dentsu India announced Ajay Gahlaut as Dentsu Creative’s group chief creative officer. Amit Wadhwa, CEO of Dentsu Creative India, will be his boss. Gahlaut will be in charge of consolidating Dentsu India’s innovative operations into a single service line. In June of this year, Dentsu India announced a new structure for its creative service line.
The reorganization, which is part of the network’s overall ambition to become the world’s most integrated group by 2024, puts the network’s creative agencies under one roof. The agencies’ names are Dentsu Web chutney, Taproot Dentsu, WAT Consult, Perfect Relations, Isobar, Dentsu One, Dentsu India, and Dentsu Impact have merged under this new creative design.

According to Wadhwa, Dentsu India is in the midst of a transformation journey toward Dentsu India 2.0, and Ajay’s addition is a crucial component of the strategy. Gahlaut, who has over 27 years of advertising experience, was the chief creative officer and managing director of advertising firm Publicis Worldwide India till June 2020.
He wrote the iconic Pulse Polio Immunization ad with Amitabh Bachchan’s phrase “Do Boond Zindagi Ki.” He was also the brains of the ‘Make It Large’ slogan for Royal Stag whiskey, the ‘Men Will Be Men’ series of ads for Imperial Blue whisky, and the ‘Mr. Murthy’s persona for Voltas air conditioners.
