Mumbai. The Sensex gained 91 points in early trade on Wednesday amid continued foreign capital investment and a positive trend from global markets. The 30-share Sensex of the Bombay Stock Exchange rose 91.70 points or 0.24 percent to 38,597.79 points in early trade. At the same time, the Nifty of the National Stock Exchange also rose 29.20 points or 0.26 percent to 11,457.50 points in the initial period.

Among Sensex companies, shares of Bajaj Finance, Yes Bank, HDFC Bank, Reliance Industries, Tata Motors, Bajaj Auto, Tata Steel and ONGC gained up to 2.27 per cent in early trade. Vedanta, PowerGrid, ITC, Hero MotoCorp, Mahindra & Mahindra, Asian Paints, L&T and TCS fell as much as 2.09 per cent. As per the preliminary data available with the stock market, foreign portfolio investors bought shares worth a net Rs 436.02 crore on Tuesday, while domestic institutional investors were net sellers worth Rs 929.39 crore. In Asia, markets in Hong Kong, Seoul and Tokyo showed a positive trend in early trade, while the market declined in Shanghai. Wallstreet closed higher on Tuesday amid positive news about US-China trade talks and expectations of a Brexit agreement.
