Founder Jeff Bezos of Amazon.com Inc made an interesting announcement in his recent three-day visit to India. The technology giant has promised to create over 1 lakh jobs by 2025 through continued investments in technology, infrastructure and its logistics network.
The jobs will be created across various industries, which includes content creation, retail, manufacturing, logistics, skill development and information technology.
The announcement came after Bezos made a promise to invest $1 billion in India to make small businesses a part of the digital world.
The e-commerce player has launched Amazon Great Indian Sale 2020 from today till 22 January to allow Prime members and non-Prime members celebrate Republic Day in a grand way. The sale provide up to 40% discount on smartphones and up to 60% off on laptops and cameras. The company has tied-up with State Bank of India to provide 10% immediate discount on purchases made using the bank’s credit card.
