Disney Plus, the American subscription video on-demand streaming service from Disney, is set to arrive in India on 29 March 2020.
Disney Plus was launched on 12 November last year and has registered over 28 million subscribers in less than three months. In fact, Disney Plus was the top trending search term on Google in 2019.
Designed to compete with Netflix, Peacock, Apple TV Plus and HBO Max, Disney Plus is the online hub to stream all that the Walt Disney Company produces such as Star Wars, Pixar, Marvel, family-friendly films, etc.
The company has announced that it will include the content of Disney Plus in Hotstar, which is also owned by the company.
The Disney Plus catalogue will be available for the premium tier subscribers under the rebranded name of Disney+ Hotstar. The pricing of the catalogue is still being worked upon and will be announced soon.
The Hotstar app will also undergo changes to make it as per the likes of the global Disney Plus app.
