US govt gives grace period of 60 days to H-1B visa holders and Green Card applicants

Washington: Amid the coronavirus pandemic, the US government has allowed a grace period of 60 days to green card applicants as well as H-1B visa holders who were earlier sent notices for submission of some documents.

Accordingly, the US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) on Friday said the extension has been served in respect of continuation to request evidence (N-14), notices of intent for denying, notices of intent for revoking, notices of intent to rescind, request for evidence as well as for filing date requirements for Form I-290B, Notice of Appeal or Motion.

“USCIS will consider a response to the above requests and notices received within 60 calendar days r the response due date set in the request or notice before taking action,” it said.

Also, the USICS shall take into account a form I-290B received until 60 calendar days from the decision date before taking on any step.
