The Yogi government increased the budget before the Uttar Pradesh assembly elections. The state administration submitted the second supplementary budget for the current fiscal year, totaling Rs.8480 crore, on the second day of the winter session. The state administration has proposed a vote in the assembly for Rs 1,69,000 crore for the first four months of the fiscal year 2022-23.

Finance Minister Suresh Khanna had presented the requests for second supplemental grants for the financial year 2021-22 and the income-expenditure for 2022-23 on the table of the House earlier, amidst commotion from the opposition members. Khanna offered a Vote on Account for a portion of the fiscal year 2022-2023.
Assembly Speaker Hriday Narayan Dikshit sat on the seat at 11 o’clock in the afternoon. As soon as the House began to meet, Leader of the Opposition Ram Govind Chaudhary addressed the matter of police harassment of Samajwadi Party (SP) MLA Prabhu Narayan Yadav in Chandauli district, requesting a debate. Meanwhile, Mishra Mona, the leader of the congress, approached the speaker’s podium and began to publish slogans demanding the dismissal of Ajay Mishra Teni, the Union Minister of State for home.

Against the backdrop of the outrage of opposition lawmakers, Finance Minister Suresh Khanna has presented to the House of Representatives for second additional grants for fiscal 2021-22 and 2022-23.
