New Delhi: Employees’ Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) pension holders can send their life certificates to the concerned office anytime of the year.

Central Delhi-EPFO Office Regional Provident Fund Commissioner Alok Yadav said here on Wednesday that this provision has been made in November and December to stop the rush of pensioners to submit life certificates. Every year in November and December, EPFO pension holders have to submit their life certificate to EPFO office or bank.

Mr. Yadav said that the period of certificate will be valid for one year from the date of submission. If a pension holder had submitted a life certificate on January 1, it would be valid by the same date the following year. According to the new provision, pension holders can give their life certificate at any time of the year.

He informed that more than three lakh Common Service Centers-CSCs have been authorized to produce life certificates across the country. EPFO pension holders can avail this service from their nearest Common Service Center. Apart from this, this service will also continue in banks. Mr. Yadav said that pension holders who have been issued PPOs in the year 2020 are not required to submit life certificates.
