The ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine has caused massive damage to the later so far. As per reports, Russia dropped two very powerful bombs on the city of Mariupol yesterday.

President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy has said that there was almost nothing left of the port city after the bombs were dropped on it.

Russia is yet to release details of the damage caused by the recent bombings. The fight between the Russian and Ukrainian forces has been going on for almost a month. Russia has been trying to gain control over the capital city of Kyiv but has been unsuccessful so far as it has faced tough resistance from the Ukrainian forces.

It is believed that hundreds of people have lost their lives while thousands have been forced to leave the country as the war has continued for the fourth week since it started with the Russian invasion on 24 February 2022.

Around 3.5 million people from Ukraine have left the country and taken refuge in other countries resulting in one of the biggest humanitarian crises of the century.

Latest reports state that the Russian forces have caused massive destruction to a new laboratory at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant in Ukraine.

On Tuesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke to British Prime Minister Boris Johnson and discussed the situation in Ukraine. French President Emmanuel Macron also spoke to Russian President Vladimir Putin and spoke about the peace talks that have been going on between Russia and Ukraine for days now without any positive results.

Many world leaders have tried talking to the leaders of the two conflicting countries and advised them about resolving the issues peacefully and end the war.

In the meanwhile, America and its allies are discussing if Russia should be allowed to continue as the member of the strategic G-20 group of nations. US National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan has said,” We believe that it cannot be business as usual for Russia in international institutions and in the international community.”

The American President is all set for a trip to the Europe to take stock of the situation and discuss new sanctions against Russia. He will attend a NATO summit and the European council during the trip in order to create a united stand of the west against Russia.

As per some reports, USA is also planning to provide medium anti-aircraft systems to Ukraine. The planes are a part of the Russian military hardware and had been acquired by America to study the capabilities of Russian defence.
