New Delhi: India is going to start exporting Covid 19 vaccines from Wednesday 20 January. During this period, vaccines will be supplied first to Bhutan, Maldives, Bangladesh, Nepal, Myanmar and Seychelles under grant-in-aid. The Ministry of External Affairs has said in a statement that India has received many requests from neighboring and major partner countries for the supply of vaccines made in India.
India will supply Covid 19 vaccine to the partner countries in a phased manner in the coming weeks and months, keeping in mind the domestic needs. The country is awaiting necessary regulatory approvals from Sri Lanka, Afghanistan and Mauritius for the supply of coronavirus vaccines.
The Ministry of External Affairs has said that India Covid is committed to use its vaccine production and delivery capabilities to help all humans in combating the 19 pandemic. In view of the requests received from neighboring and major partner countries for supply of vaccines made in India, supply to Bhutan, Maldives, Bangladesh, Nepal, Myanmar and Seychelles will be started from January 20.
India has started a vaccination campaign inside the country from January 16 to protect against Covid 19.
